Non-cricket organizations have reasons to rejoice ! BCCI had succeeded in making atleast one die-hard cricket fan, who don’t really follow any other game with so much passion, turn away from cricket in disgust. Though its hard to imagine me shunning Test Cricket which is still the best of the lot !

I am getting sick of this Irritating Pathetic League called IPL which I believe is nothing but a vulgar display of might and money ! And I really cannot understand all the hype - Sachin vs Rahul, Chennai vs Kolkata, Khan vs Mallya - I am damn confused as to who is playing for what? Cities, Owners, Players? I seriously wanted to stay away from this crap and yet cannot do so because of the stupid media ! I don’t expect anything better from the electronic media because its in their blood to flash unworthy news.

And talking about the issue of media coverage, does any one know that there was a walk from Bhopal to Delhi for 37 days demanding compensation for the gas tragedy victims in recent days ? Oh yeah, thats the one that happened in 1984, and apparently people have still not got anything concrete !! No, we are not to blame. After all how can we know all this when the media so blatantly refuses to cover these issues as ‘breaking news’ ??? Atleast Barkha Dutt had the candidness to admit that its wrong (during a discussion on ‘We the People’) not to cover news like these, may be because they have no celebrities involved !!
